It’s been over 15 years since the last real update to the quality management systems standard. With a new structure and the requirement for a ‘risk based approach’ it’s a very comprehensive revision. The planned timetable for the new standard is included below. In 2008 only minor amendments were made, and the current standard does not consistently reflect the advances of the past decade so ISO has been preparing an overhaul.
